Nicolas Bouffard has always been passionated about history and mythology. He studied at UQAM (University of Quebec in Montreal) in History Teaching. After 3 years of teaching at the secondary level, he turned to teaching at the elementary level. He has held a position at the CSSDM since 2005, mainly at the third cycle (10-11 year old students). During these years, he has participated in training on the reading continuum, the use of oral language to observe reading comprehension, and was part of a discussion group on how to evaluate students from disadvantaged and multi-ethnic backgrounds.
Mr. Bouffard is co-founder of Mirault-Lévesque Publishing House. His involvement at Mirault&Lévesque has three main goals. First, to ensure that young people in elementary and high school have access to youth literature that speaks to them. Second, to allow young aspiring writers to express their talent and ideas and to share them. Finally, through the educational booklets, he hopes to help young readers in difficulty, to equip parents to advance their child's reading skills, and to share learning situations and observation sources for his fellow teachers.
